Rugs are folded for shipping, so some creases are expected on arrival - this is not a defect. They typically relax within a few days of being laid flat. A warm iron on a low setting speeds the process.

For a living room, the rug should be large enough that the front legs of all main furniture pieces sit on it (typically 160x230 or 180x250). For a bedroom, a rug that extends 24-35" beyond each side of the bed reads most balanced. The size guide in the Specs tab lists all dimensions in inches.
